The route runs at a controlled pace, in single file behind the guide, so there’s no risk of getting lost or ending up somewhere you shouldn’t be. That takes nothing away from the fun: the surface changes constantly and the dust is guaranteed. Which is exactly why a helmet and dust goggles are included.

Who this quad ride is for

For anyone who has never driven a quad and wants to try without committing to half a day, and for families: riders from 18 with a category B licence and passengers from 7. There are several departure times a day, so it slots neatly into a morning or an afternoon with other plans in it.

When to arrive (this one matters)

You need to be there 45 minutes before your tour time, and check-in closes 15 minutes before departure. Turn up late and your place is gone: you can rebook onto the next available session by paying 50% of the cost. Factor in Albufeira’s summer traffic and leave yourself plenty of time.
